Level 2 - Accounts/Finance Assistant Location: Belvedere - Duration: 15 to 18 months - Starting salary: £18,000

Level 2 - Accounts/Finance Assistant Location: Belvedere - Duration: 15 to 18 months - Starting salary: £18,000
You will study towards a Level 2 apprenticeship, delivered by our training provider, London South East Colleges (LSEC), following the Level 2 Accounts/Finance Assistant standard. The duration of the apprenticeship is typically 15 months.
You'll work as part of the Finance team based at our Riverside Energy from Waste facility in Belvedere, south-east London, supporting the team with the Accounts Payable functions while gaining valuable experience and an understanding of the wider Finance operation across Cory.
You'll also get the opportunity from time to time to visit different Cory sites as part of your role, so you need to be flexible to travel - all of our sites can be reached easily by train/public transport, but being able to drive would be a plus.
The Level 2 apprenticeship is just the starting point in your career. While there's no guarantee of a permanent role with Cory after the apprenticeship, there is the possibility to go on to study a Level 3 and beyond if you do well and demonstrate the right behaviours.
Here's what to expect while you're on the programme.
The apprenticeship is delivered by London South East College at their Bexleyheath campus. You'll go there one day a week for classroom learning.
While you're on the programme, you'll be assessed every 6 to 8 weeks and have a formal progress review every 8 to 10 weeks with your tutor and managers in Cory. It's a great way to make sure you're on track for success.
You'll earn a great starting salary of £18,000 in the first year.
You'll study towards and achieve the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting.
You'll be able to apply for professional membership aligned with your apprenticeship:
- IAB Associate Level Membership - ICB Associate Level Membership
There's no guarantee of a permanent position with Cory after your apprenticeship, but if you show the right attitudes to learning and progress well then we hope to make you permanent when you complete your apprenticeship if a position is available. We would hope you would continue your studies with Level 3 apprenticeships and beyond.
Don't just take our word for it.
Here's what our apprentices love about working for Cory.
I went to university and got my degree but couldn't get a job afterwards. I've learnt more practical skills on my apprenticeship than I did in three years of university study.
Because I had a degree when I started, I have been able to study for a Masters in my third and fourth year with the University of Greenwich, fully funded by Cory.

Mechanical Engineering Apprentice (2022 intake)
It's a great opportunity that opens many doors for you. You meet people that help you and guide you along the right path for success.
It's the best decision I have made for my career.
