An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. This role is crucial for driving the growth and success of our business by managing existing accounts and developing new commercial opportunities. The Business Development Manager will play a key role in executing our long-term waste strategy and ensuring the delivery of required revenues and tonnages.

Key elements of the role

The successful candidate will:

  • manage all day-to-day waste supply requirements and diversions during normal operations and outages.

  • negotiate and agree terms with commercial customers to deliver the required revenues and tonnages as defined in the long-term waste strategy.

  • support local authority and other long-term tendering and opportunities.

  • collaborate with operations, customer management, finance, and legal teams to deliver waste strategy objectives.

  • identify new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products, and services.

  • generate leads and cold call prospective customers where necessary.

  • meet with new customers/clients and maintain relationships with established clients.

  • keep up-to-date records of all clients, including all communication records.

  • negotiate pricing with customers and suppliers.

  • conduct sales forecasts and analysis, presenting findings as necessary
